Rona Moscow, a 66-year-old Bloomfield Hills woman who worked with
the elderly and the poor, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at her home from cancer.
Mrs. Moscow was born in Detroit and graduated from Central High School. She received
a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan in 1956, the same year she
married Cyril Moscow. She added a master's in English from Wayne State University
and taught school.
"She was very much a people person, which was reflected in the kind of work she
did," said daughter Karen Moscow-Averbach.
Mrs. Moscow was an education manager for Cooperative Services in Southfield, where she
helped build and maintain low-income housing for the elderly for 15 years.
In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by another daughter, Ruth
Moscow-Cohe, son Daniel and four grandchildren.
A funeral was held Thursday at the Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield, with burial at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park in Livonia.
