MRS. MARY MARTIN, Biology

Mary P. Martin, 73, a retired Arlington teacher, died of cancer August 30 at Loudoun Hospital Center in Leesburg.

Mrs. Martin, who lived in Leesburg, was born in Pittsburgh.  She graduated from the University of Florida and received a master's degree in education and biology from Duke University.

She taught high school biology in St. Petersburg; Floridda, before moving to this area in 1943 as a lieutenant in the WAVES.

From 1951 to 1958, she taught biology at Arlington's Wakefield High School.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, O. Lee Martin of Leesburg; a daughter, Mary Lee Smith of Round Hill, Virginia; a sister, Ruth S. Baures of St. Petersburg; a brother, Robert H. Porter of Fort White, Florida; and two grandchildren.
