David Eugene Wiggins, born January 11, 1942, passed away on March 3,1998 in Gulfport, Miassissippi.  He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army.  He was awarded the Order of the Eagle in Boy Scouts.  His education included high school, Arlington, Virginia, bachelor's from University of Texas-Arlington, MBA and Ph.D. from Indiana University.  He served with the 82nd Airborne Division, Special Forces.  He was awarded the Bronze Star for Vietnam service and the Meritorious Service Medal on retirement.   His life was devoted to his country and his family.  He is survived by his daughters, Amy Filley, Elizabeth Wiggins and Joy Wiggins; his mother, Mary lone Wiggins; and sisters, Diane Hartley and Judy Bowers.  A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 1998, from the downtown chapel of Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport.  Additional services will be conducted from the Main Chapel, Fort Sam Houston at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and interment will be in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

1980 Reunion Directory:
Mack Hodges and I went from Wakefield to Texas A & M.  I left A & M after the first year and finished a B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Texas at Arlington.  I joined the Medical Service Corps of the U.S. Army and served tours with Special Forces in Vietnam (1968).  The Army sent me to school at Indiana University for my Masters and Doctorate in Business.  Currently, I am a LTC and chief of Resource Planning for the Surgeon General's office at the Pentagon.  I am also teaching at GWU.  I married an Arlington, Texas girl, Cynthia.  We live in Mt. Vernon, Virginia with our three daughters, Amy (14), Elizabeth (11) and Joy (6).
