Lee Hoover, 63, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Sunday, November 20, 2005, in a local
hospital. Mr. Hoover was composing room chairman at the Washington Post for years
and was transferred to International Typographical Union in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as
assistant secretary. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include his parents, Mel
and Norma Hoover of Timberville, Virginia; his wife, Christine Hoover of Albuquerque, New
Mexico; two daughters, Deborah Lynn Nieukirk of Englewood, Colorado, and Kimberly Lynn
McBride of Katy, Texas; a son, Jonathan Edward Hoover of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and 12
grandchildren. Visitation was held Wednesday, November 23, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. until
8:00 p.m. The funeral was held Friday, November 25, at French Mortuary, Wyoming
Boulevard Chapel, French Mortuary 7212 Wyoming Boulevard NE (505)823-9400.

Ed's Dad called me this morning advising me Ed passed suddenly yesterday. Ed was
residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Hoover said Ed had an aneurysm.
Apparently Ed was not aware he had this. Ed was very active while a member of
101-12. He was Chairman at the Washington Post, moved to Colorado Springs to work
within the International Typographical Union as an Assistant to Thomas Kopeck, who was the
Secretary-Treasurer at the time. |
